Koning Electrical has restored our faith in tradespeople.
Koning Electrical are leading electrical contractors covering areas across Sussex.
Koning Electrical work with domestic and commercial properties ensuring every Sussex property has safe, up to date, working electrical systems. An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR’s) should be carried out regularly to identify any dangerous, faulty electrics.
EICR’s, what are they and why are they important?
An EICR is an in-depth test on your electrical system. After the report a formal document will be provided by the qualified electrician proving your Sussex property is compliant with current electrical safety regulations. If the electrician identifies any faults during the report, the electricians will use codes to grade how dangerous the fault is.
- Code 1: Code 1 is the most serious. If the electrician identifies a code 1 fault, this needs immediate attention.
- Code 2: If the electrician detects a code 2 fault, this means there is a fault which could potentially become dangerous. It is still recommended this is repaired ASAP.
- Code 3: Code 3 means a non-serious fault has been found. To keep all electrical systems running safely this should still be fixed before more damage is caused.
- Code FI: FI stands for further investigation required. This means further testing is required to fully understand what the fault is and how much of a danger it could be.
If there are any serious faults found during the report, Koning Electrical will always prioritise this to ensure your property is back, up, and running as soon as possible. It is important that your property is regularly checked for electrical faults to prevent electrical fires and shocks that could potentially lead to serious injury or worse, death. Koning Electrical have a team of qualified registered electricians offering electrical maintenance on domestic and commercial properties.
Landlord EICR’s
If you are a Sussex Landlord, you should be aware the importance of regular EICR’s for rental properties. It is a legal requirement for Landlords to have an EICR on their property every 5 years and at tenancy changes. This is to ensure your tenants are safe and protected against faulty electrics within your property.
